Black and white always works, but this one has more going on than it first lets on. Look closer at the print and you'll find tiny elephants, deer and star flowers set into little squares, like an old woven textile someone translated onto cotton. It's the kind of piece people compliment without quite being able to say why.

The cotton is soft and breathable, cut with a square yoke edged in white crochet lace and gentle gathers below that give it shape without weight. The kurti runs 44 inches with a U neckline and a small V notch, 3/4th sleeves, and pockets. The palazzo pants match, with the same lace running along the hem — a small detail that ties the whole thing together.
